The chances are great that you’ve been in this place in your life before, trying to get fit with your current exercise routine.

I don’t care how many great workout routines you’ve finished in the past or how great other people tell you your life is, you simply want more info on how to get fit.

Wanting more workouts at home is completely normal. However, wanting more in a cardio workout creates an unsettling feeling in your stomach, doesn’t it? Your life just doesn’t seem like it’s going exactly the way you want it to go. Maybe you’ve felt this way for quite some or time or maybe not until just recently.

All you know for sure is that it’s time for a change in your home workout. It’s time to improve the quality of your life. Maybe you’ve identified a specific area that you’d like to improve. Maybe you have several areas of your life that you’d like to improve.

In your case, maybe your exercise routine isn’t going all that badly. In fact, things may be going fairly well compared to most programs. But doing well “compared to most” isn’t making you happy anymore. Although comparing yourself to other people seemed to quell this angst you’ve felt inside in the past, this quick-fix, feel-good strategy of comparison isn’t working for you at the moment. I know where you are right now. I’ve been there many times in my life. And you know what? I willingly accept the fact that I’ll be in that place again in the future. I’ve taken the time to reflect upon this type of crossroads we encounter from time to time. As long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with the human adventure we call life. I’ve been going to seminars, listening to audio programs, and reading books that are often referred to as “Self Help” books. Maybe I can save you a little time. Maybe I can bring a little clarity to your life sooner rather later.

You can choose to deal with this “Moment of Decision” at this time or put it off until later. The truth of the matter, however, is that you will have to deal with it at some point.

Have you ever watched one of those “Behind the Music” television shows on the VH1 music channel? This program takes an in-depth look at the life and times of a famous musical artist.

Every story seems to run in a predictable pattern. You are first told about the beginning years of the person’s passionate pursuit of their dreams and tremendous struggles they encountered along the way. Then, the show concentrates on the years when they finally reach the zenith of their success. Usually, the person then has some sort of setback or series of setbacks like addictions, emotional, and other personal problems that are caused by their inability to handle success. Have you ever noticed how long the down-and-out times seem to last? In some cases, they last five to 10 years!

In the end, most of the artists overcome their challenges, and in the process discover a fresh, new perspective on life that positions them for an incredible career comeback. Their rise, fall, and rise back up again seem to occur during the course of many years!

When a musical artist is out of the public spotlight, it’s easy to forget about them, their music, and what they are doing. But, their lives go on. Even with all the twists and turns, ups and downs, and trials and tribulations, they have plenty of time to pull themselves back together and make something meaningful of their lives.

“If I could get back all the time that I’ve wasted over the years, I could have discovered the cure for cancer!” I jokingly tell my family and friends. No matter what I have accomplished in the past, I always know I could have done more if I used my time more wisely. Can you relate to the way I feel from time to time?

Do you ever want success so badly—and you want it right now? Achieving that success a few years in the future seems like an eternity. You feel that all the steps that you are going to need to take to get to where you ultimately want to be are endless. You feel anxious and impatient. I think we’ve all been in that place before.

These are the times you need to display poise and patience. All you need to do is take a few action steps on a consistent basis and you’ll have the best chance of eventually getting to where you want to be. Make your time work for you.

Make a list of a few dozen fitness workouts fit that you need to take in order to reach your most ambitious goals. Concentrate on knocking off just one project at a time. Some of those things on your list might take months to accomplish but there will be many others things (like making an important telephone call or sending a pertinent e-mail) that might take only several minutes to accomplish. The majority of steps will more than likely be somewhere in between. You can use your time wisely by chipping away at those smaller tasks first as stepping stones toward reaching your goals and build momentum and self-confidence as you begin to undertake the larger tasks.

The next five years will come and go—regardless of whether you work towards reaching your long term objectives. Why not start taking action today? By doing so, you’ll undoubtedly find yourself in a much better position five years from now. You need to have faith that the small, incremental actions are leading you toward your lifetime dreams.
